English is not my native language but AFAIK, 'X has send a message' is not right English, I think it should be 'has sent a message.', 'sent a message' or 'messaged you'.

Wouldn't it be easier to fix this in an English translation, rather than patching lots of files? (and this would have no effect as you are not changing the .mo translation files, anyway)

I've notified upstream about this typo anyway, thanks for spotting it!

Thanks Emilio for patching this bug upstream. As this bug has been fixed upstream, I am changing the status to 'Fix Committed', and assigning it to Nobody. Once this patched version of the package makes it into Ubuntu, the status of this bug can be changed to 'Fix Released'.
