I've got updated color-theme.el from emacswiki, but the installation fails even if I create the directory in the error message.

thanks for reporting back. it seems that color-theme.el is not compatble with emacs23.

I've opened a bug task for emacs-goodies-el. Romain, feel free to reject the emacs-snapshot bugtask if you don't think that this can be resolved nor worked around upstream.

I actually have the same error with a different reason, though I can reproduce this when I have emacs-goodies-el installed.

I'm attaching the log, and it appears that it's unhappy about the charsets being missing.

The Debian version of emacs-goodies-el should fix Miia's problem.
Jack's problem isn't with emacs-goodies-el.

Jack Moffitt: can you still reproduce your problem? If so, please file a separate bug report. I think the emacs-snapshot task for this bug should simply be closed as Invalid.

PSG: can you please indicate which version of emacs-goodies-el contained the fix? I imagine the emacs-goodies-el task should be closed as Fix Released.

Closing for lack of feedback. If anything can be reopened, please provide enough details to triage. Thanks in advance.
