Bug Description

Binary package hint: dvdrip

Hi,

i use dvd::rip since Dapper. Now iam using it in Gutsy Beta and Think that it is become very slow. In Feisty the first run transcoding takes max. 60 Min by a 90 Min Movie, now in Gutsy it takes 4 hours for the 1. run and 5 hours for the 2. run.

Is it a bug or is maybe a new feature responsible for the slow speed?

If it's only the transcode step that takes a long time, then it's probably the backend for whichever form you're transcoding to, not dvdrip. dvd::rip doesn't do any transcoding itself.

Yes i know that it is only a frontend but do you think that there are so much changes in transcode since last release that it takes now double of the time? dvd::rip gives transcode the argument for transcoding, maybe the changed the arguments?

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 RC or later?
