Please, can you try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and on http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details.
(install packages 'dragonplayer-dbgsym' and 'gdb' and see here for backtrace https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace)

Marked as incomplete until we have a backtrace.

Ok thank you.
Can you install these packages: libxine1-dbg libphonon4-dbgsym and create another backtrace please.

Same here message:

dragonplayer crashes here on amd64 intrepid updated today

xine, vlc and mplayer work. Dragonplayer also still worked some weeks ago.

dragon --debug
amarok: BEGIN: Codeine::MainWindow::MainWindow()
amarok: BEGIN: Codeine::VideoWindow::VideoWindow(QWidget*)
KCrash: Application 'dragon' crashing...
sock_file=/home/jfh/.kde/socket-jfh00/kdeinit4__0

btw. the player works at home on i386 (there i had problems with vlc on some files, that is the reason i played with dragonplayer this morning)
