Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Compiz does not support session management like metacity does. metacity does restore the position of the applicaitons but compiz does not do this and relies on the application to restore itself on the right place.

To use this you have to remove the call to initSession in compiz's main.c otherwise compiz will freeze.

This will not get fixed for gutsy, I move the milestone so that the new session plugin can get included early in hardy.

Can you please provide a backport?

Or instructions how to build it.

I have switched back to metacity because of this defect.

Thanks and kind regards.

Hello,
will this get included into Hardy?
What about a backport?

Hardy, yes. Backport, no. The proper way to do this requires the latest compiz which we cannot put in gutsy because it requires X server changes.
