I can confirm the original -- whenever I'm in large it crashes on laplace and mirror image. On small or medium though the options work just fine, though. This is with a Logitech Quickcam.

I've made a valgrind log, but the bug did not appear. I've noted that, with valgrind running, the program run very slow, and the average fps is half the normal.. could it be that, at full speed, processing of the new frame start when the old frame is not done?

The log is attached.

Camorama 0.18 (released in september) contains fixed for several kinds of errors. Right now, our bugzilla gets flooded by lots duplicates from Ubuntu for the mirror and laplace crashes. Can you please update the version to 0.18? I have worked on 0.18 and it fixes this kind of error.

Also, could someone please raise the importance? We're talking about crashers here, and they are not unavoidable. Thanks.

Edgy is frozen for release now. Debian haven't updated their package yet either, it will definitely be updated for ubuntu 7.04 if debian update their package in the next 5 months or so..

Updating the stable release requires following the proper procedure - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates Someone should probably talk to a MOTU to see if this is likely to happen and if someone is willing to do the work. Dropping by #ubuntu-motu on freenode is probably the best way...

Debian didn't update because camorama 0.18 depends on GTK+ 2.10.

Okay, then I ask you for disabling the GNOME crash dialog in your camorama version.

I didn't say the update couldn't happen (I'm in no position to judge that), just the above factors may make it less likely. You should really talk to one of these people about it: https://launchpad.net/people/motu or if you know about packaging you could follow the steps in the Stable Release Updates procedure yourself.

Are you sure you're not just mixing "empty filter pipeline" with "there are no effects"? The effects handling of 0.17 was completely messed up (the queues haven't been savable, extensible etc.). With 0.18 it's actually possible to really create filter pipelines (though save and restore still has to be implemented). But at least, it's a lot easier to implement new filters with camorama now.

Also, the resize issue is a completely different thing.

I asked some other to try it..
Other said that it won't even start because it can't connect to /dev/video0
The other has possibly some problems with a digi-tv card but anyway, this is what he got: http://www.aijaa.com/v.php?i=2720238.png

I'll try to ask some others to try it to get more results..
