Bug Description

Please sync calendarserver 2.4.dfsg-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:
According to bug 594399, calendarserver is currently uninstallable in maverick due to upgraded dependencies, since this package is supported in Debian, this seems like a better option than dropping the package. There do not appear to be any reverse depends on it, so this appears to be a leaf package.

Changelog entries since current maverick version 1.2.dfsg-9:

calendarserver (2.4.dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Removed Uploaders field in debian/changelog
  * Changed build dependency python-dev to python
  * Updated standards version to 3.9.1
  * $remote_fs dependency has been added in init.d
  * Added NSS directory service backend
  * Added sample configuration for LDAP directory backend
  * Added PAM configuration file

calendarserver (2.4.dfsg-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (Closes: #579610)
  * add LDAP directory backend
  * remove NSS directory backend (will be added soon)
  * add patch for linux xattr fix. Related Calendarserver ticket:

I subscribed Seb, because he rejected the nomination in the bug 426778, and I just wanted him to mention if there's a reason the FFe shouldn't be approved.

Last I looked at this it was (IIRC) totally broken. I think the downside risk is low.

I've just cleaned the nomination because bugs open since karmic with no duplicate are not blockers

Is this update going to be available in the Lucid (LTS)? Calendarserver is currently installable in lucid.

Marc,
No, most likely this won't go to Lucid.

Is there a reason for this not to go into Lucid? The version of Calendarserver in LTS is so old that it's probably not worth considering installing it (which is where I came into this).
