Bug Description

I have a Logitech Dinovo Edge, which was working perfectly in Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10. Now I have upgraded to 9.04 alpha the keyboard is still working in the terminal, but as soon as X has started (gdm/gnome) it does not function anymore. CTRL + ALT + F1 - F7... is working, and in back in the terminal I can again use it as normal, but (back) in X it does not work.

I can see my keyboard in the bluetooth device explorer, I see it being paired, and when removing it and repairing it, I can enter the password and repair it, but just like pressing CTRL + ALT + F# that is all that is working... The DInovo Edge however also has a touchpad mouse integrated, and this one is working...

So what I can conclude is: Bluetooth keyboard is successfully paired/connected, but the keys aren't processed in the X applications. It looks like the bluetooth-keyboard driver had to be defined in Xorg.conf, but I don't think that should be the case, or know if this can be the case anyway...

A Ps2 wired keyboard works as normal.

Sorry, little late response...

I would agree with you and say that gnome-bluetooth has nothing to do with the keyboard.
But I also don't think it had anything to do with bluez, since my keyboard and mouse where working in the terminal, they only stopped functioning in X (gdm/gnome/kde4) (except for CTRL+ALT+F1-F7)

My bluetooth keyboard/mouse are now working in X (gnome/gdm/kde4) for some time now.
The only thing that isn't working right now is ALT+F1/F2 (no menu/start-window), and my multimedia keys (Fn F5-F8 + volume) aren't working.

attached the requested log.

Hey Leon,

so does it means the problem where your keyboard was not working with X is fixed, Could you confirm?
If so I suggest you to open a new bug regarding the new problem with the help of the page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting and I will close this bug for the bluetooth issue.

Regards.
