I am currently up to date with Hardy

Anyway, I should probably check which repository this package is coming from. Sorry if it's a mistake on my part.

Ah, anyway, here -- it's in universe/sound, so I suppose I should contact them? Regardless, some information:

Package: banshee
State: not installed
Version: 0.13.2+dfsg-9
Priority: optional
Section: universe/sound
Maintainer: Ubuntu MOTU Developers <email address hidden>
...
Conflicts: banshee-daap, banshee-offical-plugins
Replaces: banshee-daap, banshee-offical-plugins
Provides: banshee-daap, banshee-offical-plugins
...

banshee-official-plugins is no longer in the repositories. You can see this by going here: https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee-official-plugins. You can also look at the publishing history here: https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee-official-plugins/+publishinghistory. Both of them show that the package has not been in the repositories since Feisty. This is probably because the package has been removed from Debian unstable (the Debian repository where packages are synced/merged from into Ubuntu) as can be seen here: http://packages.qa.debian.org/b/banshee-official-plugins/news/20070612T092520Z.html. Are you sure that the package is really being installed from an up-to-date universe repository? Remember to run 'sudo apt-get update'. Since the package is no longer in the repositories, I am setting the status of this bug to 'Invalid'.

It has indeed been a long time, it is likely that the issue may have been
resolved by now.
