Bug Description

Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter

On our company network we need to use a proxy server (also for dns requests). The firmware-b43-installer seems to not to use the environment proxy setting (http_proxy) and fails:

Problem

user@host:~$sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
...
Setting up firmware-b43-installer (4.150.10.5-4) ...
--2010-12-01 11:21:55-- http://mirror2.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
Resolving mirror2.openwrt.org... failed: Name or service not known.
wget: unable to resolve host address `mirror2.openwrt.org'
dpkg: error processing firmware-b43-installer (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 4
Errors were encountered while processing:
 firmware-b43-installer
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Download should work

A wget on that url actually works.
user@host:~$wget http://mirror2.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2

Workaround

set up proxychains and call apt-get like this:
user@host:~$sudo proxychains apt-get install firmware-b43-installer

Extra info

Don't think this is related but we use cntlm runing on localhost to connect/authenticate to the company proxy.
