update manager crashes on latest update

Binary package hint: apport

couldn't update
same error message as in the title
it also said something about a segmentation error (I think) though I'm not sure if it has to do with this error.

in Dependencies.txt , the relevant info is in the end of the file (from where is said date 1.5.09).

Thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. yes I see.

Setting up apport (0.119.2) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/cron.daily/apport ...
Segmentation fault
dpkg: error processing apport (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of apport-gtk:
 apport-gtk depends on apport (>= 0.41); however:
  Package apport is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing apport-gtk (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Setting up gnome-system-tools (2.22.1-0ubuntu1.1)

An error on the config remove reinstall use purge to remove configuration files try.
sudo apt-get --purge remove apport
once you do this reinstall.
sudo apt-get install apport apport-retrace apport-gtk

Can you still reproduce this crash? Can you please open a Terminal and do

  sudo sh -ex /var/lib/dpkg/info/apport.postinst configure 0.119.2

and copy&paste the output here? Thank you!
