Expect apport to use firefox-3.1 to submit bugs as I have it selected the the preferred applications.

apport uses FF 3.0 to submit bugs.

Is that the system browser?
What is set when the preferred app is selected in xubuntu?

Ah, you are using XFCE. Honestly I don't know where XFCE stores its preferred browser setting. If someone finds out, I'm happy to add that to apport.

I found that for xfce4, xfbrowser4 executes the default selected browser.

Xfce stores it at ~/.config/xfce4/helpers.rc

There will be a key named WebBrowser. e.g: WebBrowser=firefox
