Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/8325 raises this issue:

With kubuntu6, i could navigate in the amarok's "collection" tab, when it's on ipod view mode, with the arrow keys(right, left)
now i installed ubuntu7,04, with gnome, and i don't know if it's because of the crash between gnome and amarok or whatever, but it doesn't work any more.
so, i'm on ubuntu7(gnome), with an IBM T42 2737 L1K, and ubuntu is the only OS i've got on the laptop
it's a tiny little problem, but it'll be nice anyway.

I had never tried that before, but I can confirm that I can only use up and down arrows to navigate this view, not right and left. I'm using Gnome and Gutsy (7.10).

The thing is, the left and right arrows are mapped as seek back / seek forward shortcuts in Amarok, so they're not available to navigate the iPod view. If you'd rather have these keys available to navigate iPod view, you can disable the shortcuts and iPod view will work just fine with the keyboard (I tried it).

Perhaps it would be clever to override any shortcuts mapped to the right and left arrow keys when an entry in the iPod view has focus?

You should use + and - keys to expand/colapse artists and stuff

Marking as invalid, because the usual use concept for keyboard navigation in Amarok's collection tab is up/down/+/- instead of up/down/right/left.

Thanks for helping make Ubuntu better.
