Bug Description

The default microphone does not work in HP Mini 1000, that being Microphone 1 / Microphone (In "Sound Preferences / Connector ). There are 6 options there, but only the first two of them work. Connector "Line-In / Line-In" and "Line-In / Microphone". The other 4 options which would be the normal choices for a built-in microphone don't work.

I've tried with linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32-15-generic, and with 2.6.32-16-generic and the results are the same.

Please rerun apport-collect while using linux-alsa-driver-modules, or just use http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh if apport-collect is still busted.

After doing some research, this may be related to the type of jack used on this machine. It has a combined headphone/microphone jack that requires a special adapter for the microphone to work. We will order an adapter and try with that.

Tested again in Maverick with a custom-made adapter for this type of connection.

There are two options: Line-In, Microphone.

- Line-In: works for the built-in microphone, does not get line signal from the single mic/headphone jack (probably on purpose... maybe it just doesn't belong on the Mini, or to use when only standard headphones are connected)

- Microphone: works with both the built-in microphone and the external one, with jack-sensing.

As there are now only 2 options and both seem to work as expected, I'm closing this bug as Fix Released.
