Bug Description

Karmic, Kubuntu:

Sound kind of works. System notifications work, but they come through the PC speaker and not the main speakers. Multimedia apps do not put out any sound at all.

Could you attempt to download and run http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh? Seems the apport collection couldn't find a sound card, and I want to see whether the alsa-info script has any more luck.

BTW have you tried rebooting your system to see if anything changes?
