Bug Description

Running xubuntu feisty with all updates as of 2007-03-21

Steps to reproduce:
 * insert a data cdrom into the drive
 * close the tray
 * close the Thunar window that opens
 * press the "eject" button on the cdrom drive

Result: a popup message stating:
Failed to eject "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_serial_2005121000029901".
Given device "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_serial_2005121000029901" is not a volume or drive.

Expected result:
The device should get unmounted automatically and the cdrom ejected.
Alternatively, a meaningful, informational message should tell why the cd cannot be unmounted.

Note:
Ejecting the cdrom via "eject volume" option on the desktop icon, or the command-line program "eject" works fine.

I don't appear to have the permissions do formally confirm this through launch pad, but I have duplicated the issue on my Feisty installation.

 Failed to eject "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_serial_KWR1608494SC0".

Clicking eject works..

This bug is present on my system too, FF up to date.
Just seems rather surprising that approaching six months can go by without anyone seeming to take any notice. Are there really so many more important problems that this one can just be ignored?
