Bug Description

Shotwell is an open source photo organizer designed for the GNOME desktop environment.

Shotwell 0.4 should be released in December 2009. This version will have ability to upload photos to Flickr and Facebook, to move photos between events, to display extended information about photos and much more.

License: LGPL 2.1

Btw, Shotwell developers says, that 0.4 will also build on Windows and the release will include a Windows installer! Yorba developers plans to make all the Yorba applications work cross-platform and this is a first step toward that.

I'm interested in working on getting this into Ubuntu. I've assigned myself, but I have not set the status to in-progress as I'm not exactly sure when I'm going to be able to get around to doing the intitial packaging. Probably not until late December, as real life is a bit hectic right now... If someone else wants to grab it feel free.

Vala is currently FTBFS on Lucid. This will need to be sorted out before shotwell can build there. See: Bug #496312

I saw you created a bzr branch for 0.3.2, but 0.4 has just been released.

Just released on 23-Dec-2009 16:59 according to
http://yorba.org/download/shotwell/0.4/

The homepage hasn't been updated yet even. I'll update my branch, but
I'm waiting to hear back from the person who filed the Debian ITP
before uploading to Ubuntu.

Andrew, I've been using a PPA version from https://launchpad.net/~yorba/+archive/ppa for sometime...perhaps that packaging can be reused, or the packager can help with this.

 * Initial release (Closes: #561788).

Your package contains new components which requires manual editing of
the override file.  It is ok otherwise, so please be patient.  New
packages are usually added to the overrides about once a week.

You may have gotten the distroseries wrong.  If so, you may get warnings
above if files already exist in other distroseries.
