Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-ec2

Please consider linux-ec2 for inclusion into Ubuntu main. Note this package is locally created and maintained.

The Main Inclusion Report can be found at:
 * https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MainInclusionReportLinuxEc2

This package is required to support Karmic (and subsequent) kernels within the Amazon cloud infrastructure. Essentially it is a Karmic kernel with a 677261 line patch set applied to revert Xen back to 3.02. This source package will enjoy the same level of CVE maintenance by the kernel stable maintenance team as the primary linux source package.

Do we need a -doc package for linux-ec2? There isn't any for the armel source packages.

Also, will it have udebs? It seems not but I wonder why, doesn't it mean that we wont have downloadable netboot kernels for Xen/EC2? That seemed remotely useful to me but it's up to you

Anyway, approved given this is yet another instance of the linux source code in main but is handled by the kernel team just like the two armel source copies. (I guess you checked with security team.)

@Loic - The Xen patchset has a number of touches to the Documentation directory, so I thought it worthwhile to include an ec2 specific documentation package.

AFAIK the Amazon AMI packages must be self contained, which obsoletes the need for udebs.
