movie player has a constant flicker while watching movies, as if it can't decide what to focus on.
this flicker happens several time a second.

Do you have compiz enabled? Is this problem gone if you disable the visual desktop effects?

This bug affects me too. If I disable desktop effects under Appearance, the problem does not occur. The flashing is also visible when the "Hardware Testing" tool shows the test picture with static.

Pedro, the question above was whether disabling compiz fixes it. "Desktop effects" under Appearance is what disables/enables compiz.

I can't speak for Jeff, but for me this bug is only there with compiz/desktop effects enabled.

Having said that, no specific compiz feature seems to trigger it. Simply having compiz on, even if not fully loaded with features, solves the problem.
