Dell Dimension 8200 LiveCD and alternate CD don't boot properly

Bug Description

This bug start to occur in Feisty Fawn an still in Gutsy Gibbon

When i try to boot from the Alternate CD it loads and after that the computer
have search after hardware and it's begins to Detecting the CD it fails
and wants modules.

in /dev/
I can't see /dev/cdrom or anything else which can be mapped to the CD drive

when i try to mount a floppy, USB sticks or the hard drives i only get
mount --- invalid argument

When i try to start the Live CD of Gutsy Gibbon i get this at my screen
bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
