Bug Description

The way that I tend to work with my PPA is very interactive. I upload something, I want to know when it's accepted, when it builds and when it fails. While e-mail is nice, it isn't something that is interactive as XMPP. I'd like to be able to get messages interactively, and have something popup on my desktop. I think the easiest way to do that is XMPP. I want soyuz to be in my buddy list.

Would telling you how much time it's estimated to build in the email help a bit?

Yes, that would help, but in my experience that tends to vary pretty
wildly. I don't think we're too good at predicting that time yet. It'd
also be nice if I could get an e-mail on success. Right now I only know
if it's done when it fails -- good reason to throw an "if lpia #error"
in there ;)

Not really, my RSS feed reader only polls about once every hour. So, it
would be very immediate. Perhaps I'm a minority case, but my builds
usually only take 7-10 minutes.

Yes this would be very useful for automated upload systems too (such as we use for mythbuntu weekly builds), as instead of waiting for static periods of time, we can have the job interactively try to do The Right Thing (TM)

We could use the same method for other Soyuz related events e.g. to notify users when a package diff they requested is ready.
