I think libreoffice switch to gio/gmenumodle... Should not work with KDE soon...

Under 12.04 KDE 4.8.5 and LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 The widget menubar works fine.
Same Kubuntu, Updating to LibreOffice 3.6.0.2 and still work fine

But under 12.10, KDE 4.9.3 LibreOffice 3.6.0.2 the menubar doesn't work anymore
Going back to 12.04 enabling Kubuntu backports and updating to 4.9.3 breaks the menubar. From that I'd say the problem comes from the 4.9 release.

I'm no position (and do not wish) to argue, my programming skills are basic and understanding of what might cause the problem is somewhat limited..

But it doesn't seem that the issue comes from LibreOffice If the cause is not plasma-widget-menubar I'd say is one of its dependencies perhaps libqt4-dbus that got a new version on the 4.9 (not sure, just guessing...)

But if say it is about this gio/gmenumodle means nothing can be done? Or that switch will make any fix now useless in the future? Do you recommend reporting the bug somewhere else?

I've come to the conclusion that this bug is invalid.

It is due to the drop of LibreOffice extension lo-menubar and the inclusion of its functions on libreoffice-gtk3 a package that works fine with unity.

For the best integration results on KDE and Kubuntu anyone should remove libreofice-kde package, install libreoffice-gtk package.

And for the global menu and Plasma Menu Bar it is necessary to install the lo-menubar manually into LibreOffice extensions folder at:
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/

I've attached the extension for convenience. Is the same from lo-menubar_0.1.0-0ubuntu4 from precise repos since the one in quantal is only a dummy package.

Hope it helps anyone that comes by with the same issue.

Removing libreoffice-kde and installing libreoffice-gtk3 results in GTK style dialog boxes.

Retaining libreoffice-kde and installing lo-menubar manually as directed above results in proper function of LibreOffice with Plasma Menu Bar --and-- KDE style dialog boxes. (thank-you Greg)

Agree that the bug is invalid here but should probably be under libreoffice-kde or an additional package created such as lo-plasma-menu which will place the appropriate files in the LibreOffice extensions directory.

LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 KDE 4.9.4 Kubuntu 12.10

Verified on second system expected function by manually copying files to libreoffice extensions directory WITHOUT removal of libreoffice-kde.

LibreOffice 3.6.2.2 KDE 4.9.90 Kubuntu 12.10
