Bug Description

UNR: Recieving a "FATAL: Module battery not found." error on boot. Doesn't seem to effect system performance but there must be a reason it's trying to load.

I get the same thing on my Sylvania g meso that cane stock with netbook remix. I am having problems with my battery capacity dropping real quick though, I wonder if it has something to do with this? Anyone else have this problem?

I am having the same error message at the Vestel Troy netbook that has latest UNR installed. I was thinking it is because of a lack of BIOS battery but it seems it is a common error.

Same error message on Aspire One A150L with UNR. However it appears to cause no other issues.

I believe this comes from the laptop-detect module, see Bug #276127. Can someone confirm and assigne to the proper package ?

Debbie Beliveau (debbie-beliveau) wrote :

This is a benign error that is output because the laptop-detect tool (called by vbesave and hotkey-setup init scripts) tries to modprobe the battery module and this module is built into the kernel. The following Intrepid change to the laptop-detect package fixes this issue:

laptop-detect (0.13.3) unstable; urgency=low
