Bug Description

Immediately after boot, menu and a window with the icons are slightly moved up under the gnome-panel. If you select any of the sections of the menu, everything falls into place.
The attached screenshot contains the offset menu and window.
Checked on UNR 10.04 beta 1 with all updates to the current date.

Thanks for reporting this bug and help to make Ubuntu better.
I can't reproduce your issue locally (with the same 1280x720 size). if you can provide any added information like is the panel already loaded when netbook-launcher is shown or the contrary, this will be helpful.

I still mark it as triaged as I think we can ask for a redraw one loaded as a workaround.

Changed in netbook-remix-launcher:
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Medium

OK, I have tried to define the conditions under which this bug appears. Bug reproduced in about eight out of ten cases, if you switch on the visual effects (normal or extra). If you disable the effects, the bug does not occur.

How i understand the problem is related to the moment of launch gnome-panel and the launch of the netbook-launcher. Maybe netbook-launcer gets the wrong coordinates of the screen depending on whether it had by this time to start gnome-panel. Bug occurs almost after every login, but only with Compiz enabled. The offset is the width of the gnome-panel.
