Also, if I select "xx GB Filesystem" from within nautilus, it asks me for a password to mount the device. Fairly silly, since this is my already-mounted root file system. The link next to it, "File System", contains the root file system as well.

Thank you for your bug report, could you add devkit-disks --dump and gvfs-mount -li logs to the bug?

Thanks, Sebastian! You made me realize that this bug report was quite invalid. The 49GB partition was indeed a different, unused partition. I guess netbook-launcher should ask for a password just like nautilus does, but that's not a big deal. Adding devkit-disks --dump for completeness.

let's close the nautilus task then since that's a bug there

Nautilus is fine, but netbook-launcher needs some way to ask for authentication in this circumstance. Until then, the best workaround is to use nautilus. Once the auth has been provided and the filesystem is mounted, it can be browsed with netbook-launcher just fine.

What about making the authentication persistent as it is in Jaunty? Is this information not stored in a keyring somewhere? Plus what about including "/" in the list of volumes? Why isn't "home" one of the default selections in folders?

Same issue here on Karmic beta.

It makes little sense to display launchers for filesystems if nothing happens when you click on them. It's confusing and nonpractical, specially for the novel user.

Even if asking for a password is unfriendly itself, its better than do nothing... so, I would agree with Paul Larson's solution that netbook-launcher had the ability to do that.

Some HINT:
My all other file systems are NTFS, which requires authentication to mount. The launcher shows mounted drive correctly, but nothing happens when click on the unmounted drives. So I agree with Paul Larson.

As now we ask again for password when due, this bug should be fixed in last version of netbook-launcher in lucid. Can you try the last daily iso to confirm it's ok? Thanks.
