Bug Description
if you change the icons of applications using the Main Menu preferences; the icons of those applications in netbook-launcher remain unchanged until netbook-launcher is restarted.
To reproduce (for example):
Add the openoffice-pkgs ppa archive to sources.
Install the OpenOffice 3.0 packages.
When vexed by the applications appearing in the main menu, and netbook-launcher, with their openoffice 2 icons, change them to the openoffice 3 icons using the Main Menu preferences. (The OpenOffice 3.0 icons are there.)
netbook-launcher still shows the old icons.
killall netbook-launcher ; netbook-launcher fixes it
Icons for new applications load happily once they're installed, so this is an issue with catching when the icons for already-installed applications have been changed. Rare, but discovered because of the "bug" that the openoffice3 packages are set to use the wrong icons.
I wonder if it's related to the bug (somewhere) about it not properly taking on theme changes?

Right, we currently check to see if we already have the desktop file read into memory, and if we do, we don't re-read in it's metadata for performance. We should do a strcmp of the metadata too.
Who knew there were people out there actually changing their icons through the menu-editor ;-).
