Bug Description
I did this because I didn't care about the search results and just wanted to get to the data entry for a bug, but it looked a bit ugly so filing this bug. PLEASE don't fix by forcing a summary to be entered :)

It is already a required field. What is happening is that you are not seeing the validation error; instead, you're getting the additional input element. What browser is this? Konqueror?
FWIW, I think it is correct to have the validation here. We really don't want people filing bugs without doing a dupe search.
