Rows in bug listings should indicate if a patch exists

Although I would like to have a general tagging feature (as in debbugs or some others), I think making patch a special case that depends on the patch being attached would be nice.

In the future people might also want to indicate the fix is available in a particular bzr branch, and that should also set this field.

Couldn't agree more. I think keywords/tags are an excellent idea.

This is something we've had in mind for a long while. Just to be
realistic about it and give you an idea of timeframe, we probably
won't get around to branch integration in Malone for at least a few
months yet. I have a strong feeling that once Ubuntu main switches to
Malone, our focus will shift heavily to providing them the basics of
what they need to be productive.

I support the addition of an icon or a snippet that says "(has patch)" to the buglist. I wonder if an icon would be easy to devise. Punting to mpt.

I think this shouldn't be done until there is a way to mark patches as obsolete (bug 123915), otherwise (a) people will learn not to trust the patch marking, and (b) in trying to work around it people will get into the habit of deleting obsolete patches even when that makes it harder for others to develop up-to-date patches.

We're seeing a fair bit of use of the "patch" tag for some of this purpose. Would it be reasonable to be able to set this flag separately from the attachment analysis until either bug 123915 is addressed, or another mechanism is selected for reducing the number of inappropriate patches identified by the attachment patch flag?

mpt has an interesting point.

Showing the tags in a small font in the bug listing would be quite useful I think. Then people can just set 'patch' or 'oldpatch', or something.

Targeting this to 2.2.1 since it's a cheap fix.

Still waiting on an icon for this; should land in 2.2.2.
