Bug Description
Forward from the debian BTS:
Hi!
The shipped programs have quite generic names. I don't think it's
fair for specialized tools to take over such kind of names WRT the
rest of the ecosystem, it's also a possible cause of confusion among
users. So could you consider namespacing them with, say, something
like “lp-”?
Granted this might be painful for current users, but I think it's
worthwhile long term, and better done earlier than later once people
have gotten used and rely on those names. To avoid a painful switch
there's always the possibility for a transition period, where the
current programs output a warning and call the new names, for example.
thanks,
guillem
