Bug Description
The functionality to export a package to an archive format (.tar.gz) exists within bzr. However, this functionality is not exposed via the Launchpad web interface.
It's useful for cases like:
- mine (https:/
- other people behind weird proxies unable to use bzr
- downloading to a flash drive to take home from work/school
- carrying code to a internetless computer
- people who just want to grab a package without intending to develop on it or deal with version control
And since the functionality already exists in bzr, hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult to implement.

This is possible now using a URL like http:// bazaar. launchpad. net/+branch/ python- fixtures/ tarball/ 42 or http:// bazaar. launchpad. net/+branch/ python- fixtures/ tarball, but there are no links to the functionality.
