Bug Description

First off, thanks for the new announcements feature.

If you look at my project's main page: https://launchpad.net/ikarus
you'd see that both announcements are chopped and the only way to see the full announcement text is by clicking "See all announcements" which may not be what I want if I just want to read the remaining sentence in an announcement.

Is it possible to add one of those ">>" read-more links that expand the full announcement text in place when you click on them?

Thanks.

I think most announcements will be too long to fit comfortably in that section of the Overview page. The announcements you've made so far just happen to be quite short.

I don't understand your comment. So, if I write a one page announcement, the headline on the main page will show

"Greetings, I would like to tell you all tha..."

Ideally, there should be a short title and a long text.

Or did you mean that my announcement should start with a title on the first line itself?

If that's the way it should be, then why was I too dumb to [not] figure it out?

Ah, now I think I understand. Since the body text for an announcement is never (or hardly ever) going to be short enough to include in full on the Overview page, we shouldn't do it at all -- we should show just the headlines. Right?

Right. Or, alternatively, if you really want to show something, give
the user some info about what will be shown. For example, you can
say "First paragraph of announcement will be shown on main page, so
keep it short and complete". But you don't have to do that, as long
as long titles don't get chopped.

I also wish for the title to be clickable but I don't know about the
usability of that. I find it a little counter-intuitive to click on
"See all announcements" when all I want to do is see only the third one.

Thanks for following up. Keep up the good work.

It would be nice to include the 'Read more' link to the announcement
URL on the main project page, too.

I think the titles should be clickable. I think the amount which is currently displayed is ok (or there could be a bit more), but the main point is it should be more direct to get the full text.

Actually the titles are not currently clickable, and this is a bit jarring - people have to realize they should click "See all announcements"

I think this is fixed in the redesign of the project page. See https://edge.launchpad.net/ikarus and let me know if there's still a problem.
