Some branches crash ec2test

Bug Description

I've tried to land https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~wgrant/launchpad/structural-subscription-security via ec2test several times now. Each time, the attempt fails. Worse, the attempt gives me no error message. That is, no email is sent to the specified addresses.

We haven't gathered much data on this, since the symptom is "not getting any data".

Being able to land branches reliably is really important, and a testing tools whole purpose is to give results. It's very important that we fix this bug.

I just finished running this branch through ec2test with no '--headless' option, and it ran all of the tests to completion. Only one test failed, and emails were sent out. It was r9214 of the cited branch.

As things stand there's no way to do anything about this until more data appears.
