Bug Description

This bug makes some recommendations for changing the behavior and appearance of the Compiz "Static Application Switcher" (see design document linked below).

A non-zero popup window delay is set so that instantaneous window switching doesn't display the window switcher; if the user taps alt-tab quickly once, windows switch without showing the switcher.

Instead of darkening the desktop and unfocused windows, unfocused windows become fully transparent. This behavior may prove undesirable, but feedback so far has been very positive.

One question about this. Why I need to see the thumbnail of the choose window If i can see directly the Window???
I think that the best way is to show thumbnails but don't switch the windows, keep the current window

This is just redundancy of visual information.

And, one bug as arise, custom settings on Compiz Config Setting Manager about the behavior don't work any more, I have to "suffer" the "fix" of this bug.

Yes, the situation is redundant, but to make the switcher ideal is beyond the scope of paper cuts.

I left icons in there because many people use them to calculate (implicitly) the number of times they must press Tab before landing on the target window. Seeing only the currently selected window doesn't help users plan a path to the target.

Bug was fixed a while ago, for some reason the lp janitor did not auto-close the bugs:
