Bug Description

In bug #138886 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/bugzilla/+bug/138886> it was requested that Bugzilla 3.0 be included in ubuntu and backported. It has been included in Intrepid <http://packages.ubuntu.com/source/intrepid/bugzilla> by Jonathan Patrick Davies <https://bugs.launchpad.net/~jpds>, but it *has not* been backported to Hardy.

Please backport the current version of bugzilla 3.0 from Intrepid to Hardy.

Hello. Is there anyone who'll decide on this? Best regards, Søren.

This one needs a dependency change for Hardy: libcgi-pm-perl -> perl-modules should do it.

It builds fine however. Marking Incomplete.

Attached is an updated debdiff, based on the Jaunty version (currently the same as Karmic).

I have installed it, but the automatic setups scripts are broken (I assume the same happens on Jaunty, though). I will investigate if a manual setup creates a working bugzilla.

/usr/share/bugzilla3/lib/checksetup.pl complains that libcgi-perl is not installed or missing

And I'm not convinced that changing the compile-time dependency is necesary after all. The perl-module package provides libcgi-pm-perl just fine. http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/libcgi-pm-perl

setup could be a bit smoother and there are a few bugs about it here and there. But I think, the bugzilla packages have always been like that, not the most sleek packages there are.

The package (available from my PPA) generally does run fine after all, as you can verify at http://bugs.openembedded.net

What is the next step?

It looks like this bug requests a backport from Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid
Ibex). However, as Intrepid is no longer supported, such a backport is
no longer possible.

This bug is being set to "Won't Fix". If you would still like to move
forward with this backport request, please re-open the bug and adjust
it to request a backport from a current release.
