I can also confirm this. It's probably a bug in the custom window manager. I can't find the Launchpad page for it right now, but isn't it called "Maximus"?

Me too, on my Mini 9.

As a workaround for Firefox I have added an entry to .Xmodmap and rebooted:
echo "keycode 115 = F11" > .Xmodmap

The firefox F11 functionality and Maximus are different.

The maximus key binding was changed deliberately, so this is not a bug, but a misfeature:

maximus (0.4.2netbook0belmont1) hardy; urgency=low

* Revert existing installations Super_L to <Ctrl><Alt>f

-- Neil J. Patel <email address hidden> Tue, 06 Jan 2009 11:47:32 +0000

However, changing the binding in gconf-editor:/apps/maximus/binding doesn't stick, it gets changed back to ctrl-alt-f, with a 'reverted' bit set.

Stuff like this doesn't help with #1

Adding to my previous comment:
Leaving the reverted bit set allows whatever startup script got installed with this package to think that's it's already done its evil, and thus permits the user's will to hold sway.

I agree with ZandrMilewski, this change causes a great deal of confusion among Dell Mini users. Just open a random Dell Mini forum: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/warning-about-the-most-recent-dell-ubuntu-update-t2422.html

I'm reopening the upstream task, though it looks like this may only pertain to settings specific to dell mini. If maximus is forcing the gconf setting to revert though, that may be a problem with maximus. Can someone confirm whether this is still the case? Thanks!

Closing the ubuntu distro task, this is probably just an issue for upstream/dell so no need for a bug task here. If anyone has a reason why this assumption is incorrect, please explain further and reopen. Thanks!
