The current package requires sudo to run its utilities. I am testing a udev rule that should take of it:

Adding this line to /lib/udev/rules.d/70-acl.rules should do it, at least for the [1] Olympus VN-4100PC device:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="07b4", ATTR{idProduct}=="020d", ENV{ACL_MANAGE}="1"
