Branch accessible via file, sftp & http, but not bzr+ssh

Bug Description
On IRC yesterday, bimberi reported that he had problems branching lp:~hardware-certification/hwtest/trunk.
I tried branching it and got this error:
bzr: ERROR: Revision {<email address hidden>} not present in "revisions.kndx".
If I branch it over sftp or http, I can get the whole branch -- 300 revisions as of yesterday. After downloading the branch locally, I tried branching it over bzr+ssh using my openssh server. I got the same error.
