The bug happened when having the Ubuntu 7.10 on a 1Gb memory stick.
Also, I have experienced several other strange bug when running on the memory stick. Normally, when I use Ubuntu on my normal computer I do not have these problems. Therefore, - I am happy to report that a 1Gb memory stick is a good test-environment !! (the software on the stick was transferred as described on pendrivelinux.com) (the stick was a: "Cruzer titanium 1.0 GB)

Just play a game and exit the game, and you could have the problem.

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you?, Can you please try with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron?

Hi Basilio,
No, I am not doing too much work with usb-memory sticks right now. However, I am planing to get one 8-12 GB stick when they come out later this year. At that time I'll give Hardy Heron my first try.

Just upgraded a gazillion Hardy components. I was getting gnome-settings-daemon failures
before (See bug# 210226), but this one looks new to my system.

I'll put a note in 210226 pointing here...
