Bug Description

Binary package hint: apport-retrace

While retracing bug #89037 using a few difffernet commands with and without sudo commands to follow:

apport-retrace -s -v -u _usr_lib_firefox_firefox-bin.1000.crash 2>&1 | tee retrace.log
apport-retrace -o retrace.crash -v _usr_lib_firefox_firefox-bin.1000.crash 2>&1 | tee retrace.log

The errror:
report file does not contain required fields: CoreDump Package ExecutablePath

If you open it its missing parts from what i can tell but the the files listed by apport-retrace.
0.61 seems to work (one of the team memebers are trying in with 0.61. I will try a few other things and see what i can find if anything.

0.70 now adds Package: etc. to the crash dump in /var/crash. apport-retrace from that version has -R, --rebuild-package-info to process older crash dumps.

Changed in apport:
status: Unconfirmed → Fix Released

I have apport 0.76.1, and it doesn't ever add a Package: field to the .crash files generated. Additionally, when trying to debug a gnome-settings-daemon crash,

[lukevyrm@Pavel:/var/crash ^_^]$ sudo apport-retrace -Rsv _usr_lib_control-center_gnome-settings-daemon.1000.crash
