smart --gui hard crashes under mandrivia 2010.1

Bug Description

When I run smart --gui
under a newly installed mandrivia 2010.1
I get an error window saying "unsupported file type"
When I dismiss that window with OK button, hard crash,
On sys error I find
Unhandled exception in thread started by
error in sys.excepthook:
Original exception was:
-------------------------------no more-----------

Needs a traceback (--log-level=debug), but sounds like the same error mentioned on the list:
