Bug Description

Hi,

Look at https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-backgrounds/+bugs : no bug is shown.
Now look at https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-backgrounds/+bug/6684 : there's a bug !

Also note that there's no 'Advanced' button on the list.

There's no bug on that first link because it lists only open bugs. When a bug is fixed it's still accessible, but it doesn't show up on searches.

On a side note, the Advanced button thing might be related to bug 6697 .
I'll reject this bug for now.

Hi Lucas,

Thanks for the report.

I think your issue is a symptom of a deeper problem: Malone should
show the current search filter. I just opened a bug on this:

<https://launchpad.net/products/malone/+bug/28697>

What do you think?

Cheers,

This is one part of the problem. The other part of it is that malone treats "Fix committed" bugs as resolved bugs. I opened another bug report about this :

<https://launchpad.net/products/malone/+bug/28698>

Closed bugs should still be listed, perhaps below a divider that clearly marks them as such, but the information is extremely useful for anyone looking for problems in a project.

I just wasted some time looking for a bug I knew existed (because I closed it myself) on IPython because I wanted to reply to a user on our mailing list and point him to the report, and yet I couldn't find it no matter what I typed in the search box. Eventually I tried to 'report' it, and the search on the 'report new bug' page did work. But it's silly that one has to use the report tool as a search tool because basic search is broken.
