I have similar behavior and it seems to be related to Bluetooth malfunctioning.
For some reason I have a BT dongle which works only on one USB port of the computer. When plugged in another port, apart for not working, when hibernating causes the same effect you described.
Do you have built in Bluetooth on the laptop? Could you try disabling it in the BIOS?

Dear Leo,

thank you for your reply and guiding me for link [1].

After text mode tests on link [1] with "no_console_suspend" option were successfully done and required info was gathered I retried to hibernate in "normal" mode. Hibernation was successful. I retried it several time for checking.

No I can not reproduce it any more. So, close it, please. Sorry for wasting your time. If any info is needed - please tell me.

Dear Giulio,

I have built in Bluetooth module in laptop, but I think it is not connected to BT as it was no such behavior was not seen in Lucid. Unfortunately, it could not be disabled in BIOS.

Thanks to you Boboms. If you encounter the problem again, or have any other issues, please report them too.

Giuliu, you should report your problems on a separate issue. The best way to do it is to open a terminal and execute:
ubuntu-bug linux
