Bug Description
I am running firefox-3.6.8 even though the bug tracker does not believe it is available under Ubuntu.
The behavior is as if the system were waiting on one or more URLs to respond. It works fine moch of the time, but occasionally fails with the hanging like condition. Running firefox -safe-mode has much the same problems. Chrome has no problem loading.
My guess is that some site referenced in both normal and safe-mode is responding slowly and that the Firebox code does not have a timeout on the load.
