Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs
I am using Ubuntu 10.40. LTS lucid lynx.
I installed it to an empty 4 years old Asus Pundit PC with a Pentium 4 CPU with 3 GHz, 1024
MB RAM, and a 80 GB Hard disk (that is all i know about it).
the computer is in good shape, windows was installed before, worked fine. then all data and systems on it were erased (the company i work for gave these models away). after installing the german version of ubuntu 10.04 it always crashes down after 2 minutes of use. i tried it a lot of times with different partitioning, also on a second computer of the same model (asus pundit) of these computers, but the same thing happens there. the cd-image i am using to install ubuntu works on other computers. can there be a hardware problem on the asus models? or a problem in the combination of that model andthe ubuntu version?
I am thankful for any kind of help.
stefan

Hi Stefan,
Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily/ current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) . It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux 623476
Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelMainl ineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream- testing' text. Please let us know your results.
Thanks in advance.
