Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have re-classified this bug as a bug in linux.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Please run "apport-collect 612107" (without the quotes) from a terminal window to collect necessary debugging information.

Please also give more exact details of the modem. This may be related to Bug 449394. Thanks in advance!

The Huawei EC1260 modem shows up as a New Mobile Broadband CDMA connection and I completed the wizard (India -> Reliance). it tries to dial the connection but is unable to connect. Some googling tell that the modem was working till 9.01 release but is not working since Ubuntu 9.10. However I am able to connect the internet using gnome-ppp and wvdial but the NetworkManager applet says I am offline! So all applications know I am offline and I cant send/recieve mails or chat.

I am available for any data required or any other help from my side...
