Bug Description

Since the upgrade from intrepid to lucid, the energyprofiles in KDE dont work properly on my lenovo T60.

Whenever a new profile is activated, display goes to lowest brightness. When I use the function keys I can dim brighter, but the onscreen display does not show the brightness.

Every event that occurs in the profile will dim the display to low brightness again.

Thanks for your report.

However, you said you've upgraded from Intrepid to Lucid, I suppose you serially upgraded from intrepid to jaunty then jaunty to karmic then karmic to lucid.
Was the brightness control working in jaunty and karmic
Did you try Maverick and is it still an issue ?

first install was karmic then update to lucid now update Maverick beta an final,
all of them have same problem for me.

decrease works fine

increasing didn't

actual in Maverick this happens

I decrease brightens to lowest level
then push brightness button, brightness and brightness level indicator are increasing for a short time (aprox 500ms) and then decreases immediate to last state.

holding increase button constantly pressed ends in random increasing and decreasing the brightness

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
