Bug Description

After installation of dapper flight-2, having chosen swedish keyboard layout, I get US layout in the default session. The console has swedish keyboard layout.

Adding the swedish layout in System/Preferences/Keyboard and making it default did not immediately take effect, but after a restart my keyboard layout was swedish.

Thanks for your bug. Could you attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf to the bug and run "gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd"/copy that to a comment?

Note that these are the ones after I fixed it manually, not as the default session came up. If needed I can reinstall though, but that'll take a while.

according to your xorg.conf the layout configured for xorg is "us", reassigning to xorg

Daniel, are that kind of issues due to the installer or xorg itself?

seb: likely xorg. i suppose the main thing to do would be to get the value of debian-installer/keymap from debconf. the installer -> xorg keyboard mapping is, uh, shaky. at best.

mattias, could you please open /var/cache/debconf/config.dat, and get the value of debian-installer/keymap? cheers.

Nothing there. This is all debian-installer/* stuff I found:

Name: debian-installer/language
Template: debian-installer/language
Value: en_SE:en_US:en_GB:en
Owners: base-config, d-i, unknown

Name: debian-installer/locale
Template: debian-installer/locale
Value: en_US.UTF-8
Owners: base-config, d-i, unknown
Variables:
  LOCALELIST = en_US.UTF-8, en_US, en_US.ISO-8859-15

At install I chose english as language, sweden as location, and swedish
keyboard. I have the correct mapping in console though.

oh, flight 2! duh.

there was a bug in flight 2 where d-i/k didn't get propagated to the installed system, so our detection, lame as it is, failed. that's been fixed.
