Bug Description

the underlying problem is gstreamer aborts in gst-ffmpeg on ff_find_unused_picture

hoping for triage in lucid to get it more attention

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612773

also: why can't apport collect assertion failures? (or at least let them be reported)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of GStreamer is available on Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.

well, its not a problem anymore, but not from a gstreamer change; apport still doesn't catch assertion failures and i'm running into them more and more (good software asserts! if you crash you've carried garbage around too long already :)
