xfig crashes after circle/ellipse drawing and drops the user to the gdm login window

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfig

Intending to draw a circle/ellipse in xfig causes crash of the application in Ubuntu 10.04 beta2.

At the moment I place the pointer to start to draw a circle, xfig crashes and immediatelly kills the X server as well and drops the user to the gdm login window.

Xfig still kills the X-server by drawing circle!

I found the following lines in /var/log/messages when this issue occurred:

Apr 14 15:20:02 hardnut pulseaudio[3494]: pid.c: Stale PID file, overwriting.
Apr 14 15:20:02 hardnut pulseaudio[3494]: main.c: Unable to contact D-Bus: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoServer: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-wfjiyQ2wva: Connection refused

This issue is not presented on an x86 platform with an mga card.

This bug affects me on an x86_64 platform with Ati Radeon x700 card.
