Bug Description

Binary package hint: light-themes

I recently noticed that the notification area icon for Tomboy has become back and white to match Ubuntu's look. However, the icon for the Tomboy panel applet remains the classic legal-pad-yellow that it has always been. It would be great if the Tomboy panel applet could share the same new (sexy) icon with the notification area.
[BTW, love the new look]

Not a bug in the theme , the applets need to use the icon.
It was fixed in the application but it seems it hasnt been fixed in the applet.

Vish, this was fixed upstream in Tomboy 1.2.0. Both the tray icon and the applet attempt to load "tomboy-panel" if available.

If you are still experiencing this problem in Tomboy 1.2.0, please do report it upstream.

As a workaround, the correct icon can be copied from /usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/apps/
and converted to png with:
for i in *.svg; do rsvg -w 24 -h 24 $i ${i%%.*}. done

I got so annoyed by the yellow icon, I couldn't wait for the correct fix :-)

I'm attaching a patch that fixes the applet to use the correct icon. It applies to Tomboy 1.2.0 through present git.
I've submitted this upstream already at gnome bug 612887.

I too am having this problem. The applet icon won't change. I've even manually replaced every instance of the icon I could find on my system -- still no luck. I'm not sure where the applet is pulling the icon from.

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 with Tomboy 1.2.1

Jeff, it's only fixed upstream. Ubuntu will need to apply Brian's patch to their packages before you see a fix in your distro.
